We woke up this morning to a very white world!
I had to get the children dressed very quickly so they could go out and play in it! This was them at 7am!
We had to cross the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland, but we made it! It felt like a very long walk back in the snow and it was still snowing as we walked up the hill. Tom was frozen and started to cry and I had to carry him up the hill back to the house. We made it. I took off his wet things and wrapped him up in a fluffy blanket on the sofa with a warm cup of tea and Peppa Pig on.
Once we'd warmed up and dried off we took the sled outside for a while. He was a bit nervous...Amy was too at the same age. So we went home again and we've started making a snowman in the garden. I think he was getting too tired and cold so now he's upstairs napping.
Lee's on his way home and this evening we're off to Glenarm Castle to see Father Christmas. I hope we can get there!

We did the childrens Christmas lists/letters to father Christmas this week.
Amy just really wanted to get the glitter out!
Amy would like Nerf Nitro, Art supplies, Lego and some surprises!
Tom would like some cars, a police car, a fire engine and a dump truck!
Their (Amy's) excitement is really starting now. She' been crossing off the days on the calendar until it's December and we can officially start getting festive.
At school they have been singing songs about shining stars and learning about the Christmas story. I can't wait until the school play :)

Amy is five!
We celebrated the day by taking her and her friends to the sports bowl. The children all had a game of bowling and afterwards everyone came back to our (very small) house for nibbles, birthday cake and a couple of rounds of pass the parcel.
Nana and granda, uncle Shane, Aunty Janette and James came over as well as Amy's friends Evelyn and Amelie, Harrison and his siblings and Carri-Ann brought Emily over. Our house was full.
Lee had pre prepared some snacks, he'd made mini pizzas, carrot, celery and pepper sticks in hummus, cocktail sausages, mini bread rolls, bowls of crisps and popcorn. Nana had ordered Amy a cake with Lightning McQueen on it, as Amy had requested.
Amy had a great day. She was so happy having her friends over!
It was fairly stressful for me. Tom had woken up from his nap and had developed a bad cough. He was feeling so sorry for himself he wanted me to carry him everywhere and cried and cried if I tried to put him down. I took him to the doctor as soon as they opened the next day and the poor child got a steroid, antibiotic as well as an inhaler :(
Thankfully he's feeling better now.
